Park is nestled in a forested canyon in
the beautiful Union Flat area. This 59 acre Park is ideal for families, large
groups and picnics! Lots of room to run! For the safety of the
wildlife, park visitors and other domestic animals, please keep your pet on a
leash. This park is open from 7:00am to dusk, daily. For shelter

Fire Danger Warrants Open Fire Restrictions In Whitman County Parks
Tim
Myers, Director, Whitman County Parks Department has indicated that fire
restrictions will be in effect as of Friday, July 16, 2010 at Kamiak Butte and
Klemgard County Parks as well as the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail. Fire
Restrictions have been in effect at Wawawai County Park since June 10th per
Whitman County RFD #14 guidelines. This restriction remains in effect. Restrictions
Include:' Fireworks, campfires and
smoking on trails will not be permitted within park boundaries. Cooking with
charcoal briquettes or a gas grill is still an option.' However, all park visitors need to be
prepared and vigilant, always keeping a bucket of water and shovel nearby when
cooking.' For additional information, please contact the Whitman County Parks

Amenities: Hiking trail, playground, sand
volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, multi-purpose field, year round restrooms,
one large group shelter (capacity of 200 people), 3 small shelters
(capacity of 8 people), and picnic areas with tables and grills. Each
shelter has a barbecue grill.

From Pullman: Travel 10 miles north on Highway 195
(Pullman-Colfax Highway).
Klemgard
County Park
is well marked with a Department of Transportation brown picnic, trail and tree
sign. Turn left on Hamilton Hill
Road (Rd. No. 8300) and drive 2.5 miles to the
bottom of the canyon flat. Turn west (right) on Union Flat Road (Rd. No.
8250)(it is a gravel road) and travel 1 mile to the entrance of the park.
From Colfax: Travel 5 miles south on Highway 195 (Pullman-Colfax Highway).
Klemgard
County Park
