When someone is arrested a Judge will hear the information supplied by the
arresting officer, from a so-called Probable Cause Booking Sheet (PC Booking
Sheet). The PC Booking Sheet has the reason the person was arrested and the
crimes for which he is being charged. The Judge makes the decision whether to
hold the arrestee without bond, set a bond amount,
or release the person on his own recognizance.
When someone is first arrested, he has an automatic bond set. The bond is
determined by the arrestees charges. For every misdemeanor - $250. For every
gross misdemeanor - $500. A felony creates a situation where the person can not
bond out until the Judge hears the PC Booking Sheet.
